Community college prez says no to Conner Habib

Corning Community College, in New York state, canceled a lecture that was to be given by porn star Conner Habib.

According to the campus LGBT group Equal, which had set up the lecture, college president Katherine Douglas pulled the plug after learning about Habib's porn work.

"[Douglas] said she in no way was about to let porn rights and LGBT rights become intertwined on her campus," group president Brandon Griewank said.

Plans were made to proceed with the lecture at an off-campus location.

"That's when things started getting worse," Habib said.

Griewank alleged he was pulled aside by Dean of Student Development Donald Heins who told to him to end all future interaction with Habib. "He told me I wasn't allowed to speak to the press, told me I wasn't allowed to help Conner." And if something did happen off campus, Heins warned Griewank about attending.  "He said, 'I hope you grasp this, Brandon, that this issue is bigger than you and bigger than Equal.'"

A spokesman from the school denied the allegation of intimidation. In a statement, the spokesman claimed: "Corning Community College has no intention of interfering in any way with our students' protected rights. Our students are free to express themselves and attend any events they choose."

As for Habib, the spokesman explained that "Mr. Habib's celebrity status as an adult film star is inconsistent with the educational theme of this program. Mr. Habib's contract was paid-in-full, yet we respectfully declined his participation. Our students are free to express themselves and attend any events they choose."

"I have more university dates coming up; hopefully I won't have to go through this ever again," Habib said.

Douglas has seen enough porn in her life to know that whenever a porn star enters a room - as a lecturer, or TV repairman, or pizza deilvery boy - an orgy is sure to follow. She was just thinking about the cleaning bill, people!
