Jett Black outed as ballet star, kicked out of school

22-year-old Cocky Boys model Jett Black, whose real name is Jeppe Hansen, is firing back at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) claiming the company kicked him out of its training program because of his work in porn.

Hansen has studied, and danced, around the world, from his native Denmark to New York City to Montreal. He joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in September 2012 after securing a scholarship.

"My identity is built on being a ballet dancer," he told CBC News. "For me to come there was a big opportunity for me."

However, he also started to dabble in porn late last year, and once the RWB found out "they told me … they didn't have any space for me because I did porn," he said. He added that the company wanted him to sign a letter in which he admitted to leaving voluntarily.

He continued: "Being told because you're doing something else that's interrupting with what we think you can do is really difficult because they know it's your passion, they know that that's what you live off. They know my entire identity's built on it. So it was really difficult to be told that and to be told, 'You know what? There's no space for you here.'"

After leaving the school, he move to New York City and decided to pursue porn on a full time basis as Jett Black. He saw it as a chance to break away from some of the restrictions imposed upon professional dancers.

"Being a ballet dancer is restrictive. Everyone tells you what you have to do, how to look, what to weigh, how to perform [and] be the artist you are."

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is remaining tight-lipped on the situation, only stating that a student code of conduct is in place for issues such as this.

Hansen is not through with dancing. "My dancing career is not over. And when [officials at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet] told me that, I thought the same thing," he said. "I'm taking a break from performing and I'll take this break until I find a place where I can fit in as a ballet dancer."
