Michael Causer was a gay Liverpool teenager beaten to death last summer. His cousin Christopher decided an online tribute was in order and created a Facebook page as a memorial to his relative. The group had almost 7,000 members and hundreds of supportive comments.
For some reason, Facebook administrators took down the site this week for breaking their 'terms and conditions.' No other explanation was provided.
Marie Causer, Michael's mother, said: "We don't know why it has gone. My nephew Christopher, who set it up, was told by Facebook it broke their terms and conditions but we don't know how.
"It was full of beautiful messages for Michael and for us. It's so sad, especially when it had so many photos of Michael and it's coming up to the first anniversary of his death."
Attempts to have the page reinstated have fallen on deaf ears. Maybe it's time Facebook to have a heart.
