New Himeros series explores sex and spirituality

is releasing a new series of erotic videos called "Sacred Sex," designed to reclaim religious symbols and imagery while emphasizing the sacred nature of gay sex.

Davey Wavey, who created the company, designed the series with Coach Nic, "a former priest and current gay sex coach."

"Recognizing the sacred nature of what we do with our erotic bodies is the first step in countering centuries of being told that we are sinful, impure or, the church’s favorite word, 'disordered,'" a rep said. "Those words have taken their toll on the gay community and many have experienced the shame and trauma that comes with them."

The first episode, "Baptism," stars Drew Dixon and Nico Nova and "reclaims what it means to be washed clean, to initiate sex through the element of water. It’s playful, fun, erotic, even sacred time between two lovers," the rep said. "'Baptism' is one of the most electric duo scenes released anywhere so far this year."

"Make no mistake: When religion says that our sex is disordered, they are committing trauma against gay and bisexual people," explained Wavey. "As someone who grew up Catholic, working on this Sacred Sex project, which reclaims religious symbols and imagery, was a tremendously fulfilling and healing experience."

"The first [scene] really sets the tone for the series," added the rep. "The 'Sacred Sex' shoot was facilitated by 'Coach Nic.' The first mini-doc gives you a behind-the-scenes look at Coach Nic, the process at Himeros and the models. The documentaries really convey the intention behind this boundary-pushing project."
