Police promote gay website

Police in South East England have been encouraging residents to visit .

They made the error in a pamphlet they distributed in the community, misspelling their web address: instead of the correct address sussex.police.co.uk, the Sussex Police printed sussexpolice.co.uk, a site that links to gay porn pages.

The overreaction was swift. One woman cried foul: "I can't believe this leaflet even got to the stage of being printed and posted through people's doors. Did nobody check it at any stage of the process?"

The police force could only apologize: "It's very embarrassing. Hopefully not too many people will try to visit the site. We're looking at ways of preventing this type of thing happening in the future."

Thankfully no deaths have been reported due to this error.
