Indian government can't stomach adult cartoon

An adult cartoon website has offended India’s government enough that the country has banned it. On June 3, was blocked by the Department of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

In India the Controller of Certifying Authorities has authority over what can and cannot be seen by the country's citizens. It decided SavitaBhabhi.com was unacceptable after receiving complaints about the site.

“We are talking to our lawyers and trying to figure out our options,” SavitaBhabhi.com’s administrator Deshmukh said. “The initial reaction is since the site does not pose any threat to India’s national security and is not illegal, it must be against some international treaty to block it. However, we are still working on the legal angle.”

The site follows the exploits of Savita Bhabhi, a bored housewife who seduces the men in the neighborhood. 60 million unique visitors check out the site each month. An impressive 70 percent are actually from India, and it is the 82nd most-visited Indian website.
