Brent Everett opens up about drug problem

Porn star Brent Everett revealed this week that he has been struggling with drug addiction.

In a very candid he titled "Let's come clean," he shared that he has had an issue with hard drugs for several years.

Here is what he had to say:

"Let me come clean about something that I've been fighting and hiding for years. I'm an addict. I was using hard drugs on and off for years. It was something I've been hiding and am ashamed of. It was the hardest thing I ever had to go through in my life. I put my family through hell and hurt everyone close to me. All they did was try to help me and I pushed them away. I can't tell you how sorry I am for putting them all through hell. The person you become when you're on drugs is not human. It's someone else. It scared me and I know it scared the ones I loved.

"I didn't want to have to come out this way but it has, and the best thing is to own up to it.

"After years of drug use I have finally been sober for the longest time ever. I wake up and thank God I'm still here. I've tested everyone and my body. I can't believe I'm still here. Alive.

"If you've noticed I've been more religious lately, this is the reason. I'm thankful God has allowed me to walk this earth today. I'm here for a reason. I will tell more about this whole phase of my life in the future. Right now I just want to let you know I'm great. Happy. And let others know if you're going through the same thing not to give up and don't hurt the ones you love. You can beat addiction."

We certainly wish Brent continued success in sobriety.
